Kosmos Energy has repeatedly received major recognition for our commitment to leadership in the area of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) responsibility. Indeed, Kosmos is featured on the most recent list of America’s Most Responsible Companies, as selected by Newsweek and Statista. The full list may be viewed here.
Inclusion on this prestigious list is based on key performance indicators in the ESG field, derived from publicly available sources such as our Sustainability Report, as well as a survey measuring public perception of company activities related to corporate social responsibility.
Among the aspects that make Kosmos stand out are:
Environmental
We work to reduce emissions, even when we are a non-operating partner. For instance, we have agreed on a plan with the operator to eliminate routine flaring at our Jubilee and TEN fields offshore Ghana by 2025.
Social
Kosmos supports enhancing economic opportunities wherever we operate, as evidenced by the Kosmos Innovation Center, which provides training and support for young entrepreneurs in our host countries to establish self-sustaining businesses outside the energy and gas sector.
Governance
As the first US oil and gas company to publish its petroleum agreements and payments on a project-level basis, Kosmos continues to be a champion of transparency. Access our payments to governments here.
These and other concrete demonstrations of our ESG commitment led to our continued selection as one of America’s Most Responsible Companies. We are grateful for the honor, but our passion to be a leader in ESG is not driven by a desire for recognition. It is, rather, a reflection of our integrity and accountability, values as true today as when we were founded more than 20 years ago.
