Jon Cappon

Senior Vice President and Head of Equatorial Guinea Business Unit

Mr. Cappon leads our Equatorial Guinea business unit. He has more than 35 years of experience in the international oil and gas industry, working on projects in Europe, South America, Southeast Asia, and West Africa. Since joining Kosmos in 2007, Mr. Cappon has held several management roles related to the Jubilee and TEN fields in Ghana, the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim, Bir Allah and Yakar-Teranga fields in Mauritania and Senegal, and the exploration program offshore Sao Tome and Principe. Before joining Kosmos, Mr. Cappon worked for Hess Corporation as a Geological Advisor and Triton Energy as an Operations Geoscientist. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Geological Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
